About us

167/B street

167B Street is an art gallery and an ever-changing urban laboratory. Its work aims to improve the 167 neighborhood aesthetic but also to promote a greater sense of belonging between its people.  For over 10 years the lab has been committed to exploring and experimenting in the realm of urban street art.

By partnering with artists and cultural professionals, 167B Street crafts new ways of experiencing urban spaces. By using new spaces and artistic languages, the lab supports the social and geographical development of the areas in which it operates.

“We value working for and with people. We are committed to building strong and new human bonds, never forgetting our core values: respect, equality, inclusion”.

Over the years, the 167B Street laboratory has carried out its art project both in Italy and abroad.

It spread art and worked alongside with local prisons, public schools, refugee centers, Italian cultural institutes, art collectives all over the world.

One of the major carried out by the lab is the “167 Art Project” – a series of murals by internationally street artists, which gave a new face to more than 14 facades of council houses in the heart of the 167B neighborhood.

Colorful, monumental artworks that are the product of a sociological study of the place and the surrounding area.

The purpose of the project is to create rule-breaking artworks that challenge social bias, aiming at boosting the sense community and the urge to partecipate in building the future of the city of Lecce.

Poesia D’Assalto

  1. May I just say what a relief to find somebody
who really knows what they are talking about on the net.
You actually understand how to bring an issue to light and make it
important. A lot more people need to look at this and understand this side of your
story. I was surprised you aren’t more popular because you most certainly possess the gift.
